Learning is messy. Furthermore, we don't teach CONTENT, we teach STUDENTS, and students learn best when they feel safe, seen, and welcome in the classroom community. As teachers, we play a huge role in establishing this classroom culture just as we play a huge role in how the curriculum is presented. By deliberately and consciously fostering this culture, we can set our kids up to be engaged and collaborative learners who feel safe taking educational risks.
